At the end of May, the Bio-MeGaFuel Project participated in the inspiring symposium “From Waste to Sustainable Fuels”, alongside fellow European projects including Flexby, TEAPOTS, BeBOP, Fuels-C, and PYSOLO.
Over two days, participants engaged in discussions covering a wide range of topics, from life cycle assessment and circularity metrics to artificial intelligence, techno-economic analysis, and advanced fuel pathways.
Bio-MeGaFuel contributed with two presentations:
- “Carbon, Cost & Climate Performance of Biofuel Value Chains – A Systems Perspective in the Nordic Context” presented by Sennai Mesfun and Emil Hed from RISE Research Institutes of Sweden.
- “Exploring Intensified Systems for Biobased and E-Fuel Conversion Processes” presented by Fausto Gallucci from 1 Cube BV.

The key takeaway from the symposium was clear: accelerating the transition from innovation to implementation requires strong collaboration across sectors, projects, and value chains.
The event provided valuable insights, fostered new connections, and reinforced a shared ambition to advance sustainable fuel solutions across Europe.
🤝 We thank the organizers and all participants for two days of engaging discussions and look forward to continuing our collective efforts toward a more sustainable energy future.
