On 30 October 2026, the Bio-MeGaFuel and EMPHATICaL projects successfully hosted a joint webinar entitled “Intensified (Bio)methanol Production”, bringing together researchers and experts to discuss innovative technologies and approaches for more efficient and sustainable methanol production.
The webinar featured five presentations, including introductions to both projects and three technical contributions:
- E-methanol production with electrified purification using heat pump-assisted distillation, presented by Lucas Poker (Delft University of Technology).
- Fluidized Bed Gasification for Producing Sustainable Fuels and Chemicals from Biomass and Waste, presented by Avishek Goel (GIDARA Energy B.V.).
- Membrane Reactors for Methanol Production, presented by Prof. Fausto Gallucci (1CUBE B.V.).
The session also opened with presentations of the Bio-MeGaFuel project by Amir Soleimani Salim (RISE) and EMPHATICaL by Marija Saric (TNO), introducing their respective objectives and research activities.
The webinar provided a valuable opportunity to exchange knowledge, share research results and explore different technological pathways for advancing (bio)methanol production.
